Our Philosophy

Passion, pleasure, agility, and responsibility

Our Maison is rooted in a history that stretches back over more than a century. This heritage has been passed on from men and women with a great passion for their land and their vines.

To ensure this legacy lives on, and is handed down to future generations, we are committed to a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative which has encouraged us to adopt wine-growing practices which protect the environment and biodiversity.

Each of our wines has been elaborated to convey a part of this rich history, with the aim of giving our customers instant enjoyment. To achieve this, we always take into account your personal preferences.

Since 1909

A wine cooperative heritage

The 170 winegrowers belonging to the Arnaud de Villeneuve cooperative are the successors of those in Salses le Château, who as early as 1909, joined forces to develop their common winemaking tool.

Our Strength

Men and women working together

The strength of a team is much more than simply the sum of our individual skills.  A wine co-operative is a perfect illustration. It involves men and women work together, in both the vineyards and the cellars, with a shared passion for their work and a common goal.

Our wealth

A patchwork of ‘terroirs’

Our 1300 hectare vineyard are primarily located in the northern part of the Roussillon plain, between the Corbières, the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean. From plains to valleys, hillsides to terraces, red soil to black marl, pebbles to shale colluvium, we boast a magnificent array of terroirs.

For your pleasure

All the wines of the Roussillon

We are extremely privileged to have iconic Roussillon grape varieties such as Grenache and Muscat, a diversity of soils and micro-climates that characterise our vineyards, and a remarkable level of expertise. We use this great wealth to produce a range of wines with a variety of personalities. From our refreshing, gourmet Vins de Pays to our collection of exceptional Rivesaltes vintages, we showcase all the riches the Roussillon has to offer.

Our Label

‘Vignerons Engagés’ certified

To ensure we always live up to the expectations of our customers and society as a whole, we have been committed to a sustainable development initiative since 2012. The key issues at stake are conserving resources, protecting the environment and biodiversity, and strengthening our links with the local community. Since 2020, we are ”Vignerons Engagés” certified, the first CSR and sustainable label, dedicated to the wine industry in France.

The ‘Vignerons Engagés’ specifications are based on the globally-recognised ISO 26000 standard. More than simply an environmental label, this is a philosophy based on environmental sustainability.

In homage

Arnaud de Villeneuve

Born in the 13th century, ARNAU de VILANOVA was a Catalan physician who taught at the University of Montpellier and was the doctor appointed to the kings and queens who lived in Barcelona and Perpignan. He developed a number of plant-based, alcohol and wine-based medicines that continued to be used over the centuries.

He was also responsible for creating a recipe for a delicious and original wine that the winegrowers of Roussillon further developed and enhanced over the years, resulting in the celebrated Vins Doux Naturels.
In homage to this great man, we have been marketing our wines in his name for over 30 years.
